June 2018. Government of Canada. Energy efficiency regulations are a key tool to facilitate the transition to clean renewable power by reducing overall demand and reduce utility costs for households and businesses across Canada. TAF has expressed our support for Amendment 14 to Canada’s Energy Efficiency Regulations in these comments addressed to the Office of Energy Efficiency in Natural Resources Canada.
Amendment 14 is the most substantive update to the regulations in a decade, affecting 20 different types of equipment and expected to generate nearly 12 megatonnes of cumulative carbon emissions reductions across Canada while generating net economic benefits valued at $4.5 billion. Energy efficiency will create new jobs and increase energy productivity across the country. See the full letter for additional information.
