January 2018. The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) expanded our mandate to include the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). We asked ourselves, “How should TAF engage in the GTHA in order to maximize carbon reductions now and over the long-term?” To answer this question, we present the Greenhouse Gas Reduction – Action and Opportunity in the GTHA recommendations summary written by Dunsky Energy Consulting and the Clean Air Partnership that will help guide our regional activities.
TAF now feels well-equipped to best connect with regional stakeholders, strengthen capacity in the region, and plant seeds for a regional network. This summary provides the necessary context and actionable recommendations to move forward and accelerate carbon reductions across the region. These findings are grounded in extensive research, interviews, and focus group testing over the first phase of our regional expansion. For more information, you can access the full report here.
