As TAF’s Research and Innovation Manager, Maryam accelerates TAF’s thought-leadership in emissions quantification and supports governments in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area to find effective low-carbon strategies to meet collective emissions targets. She assesses the long-term direct and potential carbon reductions and co-benefits of TAF’s individual grants, programs, and direct investments, including projects being considered for approval, design and lead strategic research projects on carbon and co-benefits.
Maryam holds a Ph.D in Transportation Engineering from McGill University (2012-2016) and worked as Postdoc for University of Toronto (2016-2018). Her research interests are in transportation and traffic analysis focusing on greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution and exposure, and specifically public policy development to address community-level health.
