As Manager of Clean Transportation at TAF, Huriya leads work to reduce transportation emissions across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area by accelerating the transition to electric mobility and advancing policies and programs that support more sustainable movement of people and goods.
Previously, Huriya held roles at Natural Resources Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada, where she specialized in transportation emissions reduction, with a focus on medium- and heavy-duty vehicle decarbonization, sustainable freight, federal sustainability initiatives, and net-zero research. Notably, she led the launch of the Green Freight Program, one of Canada’s first large-scale national investments.
Huriya holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science and Economics from the University of Ottawa. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active and can often be found hiking local trails, cycling around the city, practicing yoga, or hitting the slopes in the winter.
