Carbon emissions from single-family homes represent 17% of Toronto’s emissions. While homeowners increasingly understand the need to cut emissions, they face multiple barriers.
Pocket Community Association is building a non-profit retrofit coordination service to help homeowners overcome barriers and to accelerate retrofits in single-family homes in Toronto, and eventually across the region. The coordination service will:
- Offer peer support, answers to technical questions, and access to lessons learned in completed retrofits
- Coordinate the retrofit support advice that homeowners require to make decisions
- Help homeowners navigate the design and procurement process, ensure quality control, and evaluate emissions reductions.
